Cold email cost calculator

Runs in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere. Prices read from each vendor's own pricing page on 7 October 2026.

Your volume
Sending setup

Why 30: mailbox providers judge each inbox by its own history, and a small inbox that suddenly sends hundreds of messages a day looks like a hijacked account. Most cold-email guidance keeps each inbox at 25 to 50 a day; lemlist's help center recommends capping at 25 to 30 cold emails, and 50 including warmup. More volume should come from more inboxes, not busier ones.

Ramp after warmup

Defaults follow lemlist's published guidance: start at 10 to 15 a day per mailbox and add about 5 a week.

Notes on each price (what is included, limits, contradictions on the vendor's page)
Google Workspace Business Starter
US list price. The pricing page shows $7.00 per user/month for Starter with the 'Annual (Save 16% with 1 year commitment)' toggle on by default ('All plans billed monthly, all prices $USD'; 'Price is per user/month and does not include tax'). The flexible (month-to-month) price of $8.40 per user/month comes from the page's embedded pricing data (the Starter entry pairs USD 7 [USD 84/yr] with USD 8.40). It is shown when the Annual toggle is switched off. Promo on 2026-10-07: 30% off Starter for 3 months for new Google Workspace customers ($4.90 annual / $5.88 flexible); not used here. Includes 30 GB pooled storage per person, custom business email, Gemini in Gmail, Meet with 100 participants, and security/management controls. Gmail sending limits per Google's help page https://support.google.com/a/answer/166852 (redirects to https://knowledge.workspace.google.com/admin/gmail/gmail-sending-limits-in-google-workspace): daily sending limit of 2,000 messages per user account (1,500 for mail merge; 500 for trial accounts); 10,000 total recipients per day; 3,000 external recipients per day; 3,000 unique recipients per day (2,000 external; 500 external for trial accounts); 2,000 recipients per message (max 500 external).
Microsoft 365 Business Basic
US list price per the product page: '$7.00 user/month, paid yearly (Annual subscription—auto renews)' and 'Or buy for $8.40 user/month with a monthly subscription'. Includes web and mobile Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook, custom business email, 1 TB cloud storage per user, and Teams. The 'no Teams' variant is listed at $5.40 (annual) / $6.48 (monthly). Exchange Online limits per Microsoft Learn https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/exchange-online-service-description/exchange-online-limits (page updated 2026-09-09): recipient rate limit of 10,000 recipients per day per mailbox (Business Basic/Standard); message rate limit of 30 messages per minute; recipients per message customizable up to 1,000. There is also a Tenant External Recipient Rate Limit (TERRL), a per-tenant daily cap on external recipients. It depends on the number of licenses and has no fixed number on the page; trial tenants are capped at 5,000 external recipients/day. Mail sent from default onmicrosoft.com domains is limited to 100 external recipients per organization per 24 hours. Microsoft says Exchange Online is not suited to bulk mailing.
.com at Cloudflare Registrar
check vendor: no .com dollar figure could be read on an official Cloudflare page. cloudflare.com/domains and the 'Buy .com domains' page state at-cost pricing ('Cloudflare Registrar charges the wholesale price for .com domains, which is the exact fee set by the registry... no markups'). They say renewal is also at cost with no Cloudflare surcharge, though the registry may change its price. So renewal equals registration, but the number is not printed. The TLD price list loads from https://domains.cloudflare.com/api/tlds, and Cloudflare's price page is https://pricing.registrar.cloudflare.com/. Both returned HTTP 403 behind a bot challenge to curl and WebFetch. cfdomainpricecheck.com did not resolve (DNS failure), so its ownership could not be confirmed and it was not used.
.com at Porkbun
First-year registration $11.08 and renewal $11.08 (transfer $11.08), from the .com row of Porkbun's domain pricing table (columns: registration / renewal / transfer; 'Registration and renewal prices are per year for non-premium domain names'). The row has Porkbun's 'At Cost Domain' badge: 'after our wholesale cost, the ICANN fee, and credit card fees there is no additional markup'. https://porkbun.com/tld/com also shows '$11.08 everyday low price'. Free WHOIS privacy is included per the .com page.
Instantly
'Outreach' tab of the pricing page, with a Monthly/Yearly toggle. Monthly figures come from the 'monthly-pricing-plans' cards and yearly per-month figures from the 'yearly-pricing-plans' cards (about 20% less). The page does not state how yearly billing is charged (upfront vs monthly), so check vendor. Lead-database credits ('Instantly Credits' tab) and Bundles are priced separately and not included. Enterprise is custom. Growth: Card: 'Unlimited Email Accounts, Unlimited Email Warmup, 1000 Uploaded Contacts, 5000 Emails Monthly, Chat Support'. The FAQ confirms you can connect and warm unlimited accounts on one subscription. Hypergrowth: Plan card (monthly and yearly): '25 000 Uploaded Contacts, 125 000 Emails Monthly, Premium Live Support', unlimited email accounts and warmup. The page's feature-comparison table lists 'Emails per month 100,000' for Hypergrowth, so the page contradicts itself; the card figure is recorded. Light Speed: 'Everything in Hyper Growth + 500 000 Emails Monthly, 100 000 Uploaded Contacts, SISR System' (dedicated/private server and IP sharding and rotation). The yearly card says '500 000+' / '100 000+'. Unlimited accounts and warmup are inherited from Hypergrowth.
Smartlead
Monthly/Yearly toggle ('Yearly 17% OFF'). The FAQ says 'Annual billing saves 17% across all plans' and there is no lock-in. Yearly per-month figures come from the 'plan_*_year' cards. Smartlead's own https://www.smartlead.ai/llms.txt gives the same plans, except Prime annual is $315 there vs $314.6 on the pricing page. Promo banner: 50% off the first month on any plan; not used here. All plans include unlimited email accounts (FAQ: 'All Smartlead plans include unlimited email accounts at no extra cost'). Base: 2,000 contacts, 6,000 email sends/month. 2,000 verified prospect emails are a $59/mo add-on on this plan. Warmup pool is 'Foundation tier'; llms.txt lists 'Email warmup: Unlimited'. Pro: 30,000 contacts, 90,000 email sends/month. 30,000 verified prospect emails are a $59/mo add-on. Warmup pool is 'Growth tier'. Client workspaces are available as an add-on. Unlimited Smart: Marked 'Most popular'. Unlimited contacts, 150,000 email sends/month, 50,000 verified prospect emails included free. Warmup pool is 'Premium (Eligible for Ultrapremium)'. Unlimited Prime: Plan card: unlimited contacts, '500,000 Email sends', 170,000 verified emails included, 3 SmartServers and 3+ client workspaces included. The page's volume selector and llms.txt say 510K / 510,000 sends; the plan-card 500,000 is recorded. llms.txt gives the annual price as $315/mo.
lemlist
Monthly / Quarterly (save 10%) / Yearly (save 20%) toggle. Figures come from the page's embedded pricing data (__NEXT_DATA__); yearly is shown as a per-month price. The current structure has two plans. 'Email' is priced by monthly email volume with unlimited users and email senders, so it is not per seat. 'Multichannel' is priced per user ('/USER') and allows 5 senders per user; extra senders cost $9 per email per month. Enterprise is custom (5 seats minimum). lemwarm and deliverability protection are included in all plans (FAQ). lemlist help center ( https://help.lemlist.com/en/articles/7210709-setting-account-limits ) recommends starting at 10-15 emails/day per mailbox, adding 5 per week, and capping at 25-30/day. Warm-up plus campaigns should stay at or below 50 emails/day per mailbox. Domains under one month old should stay under 100 emails/day across all their mailboxes. Email (50k emails/mo): Default volume on the Email card ('Users Unlimited, 50,000 emails /mo'). Quarterly: $62/mo. Includes 'Unlimited users & Email senders'. 'Unlimited contacts' is ticked for the Email plan in the comparison table. Email (100k emails/mo): Volume tier from the Email plan selector. Quarterly: $80/mo. Email (200k emails/mo): Volume tier from the Email plan selector. Quarterly: $143/mo. Email (500k emails/mo): Volume tier from the Email plan selector. Quarterly: $323/mo. Email (1M emails/mo): Volume tier from the Email plan selector. Quarterly: $593/mo. Higher volume: 'Talk to sales'. Multichannel: Price is per user per month ('/USER'). Quarterly: $99/user/mo. '5 senders per user' (tooltip: 'Add more email senders for $9 /email /mo'). Includes 'Unlimited emails & messages', LinkedIn, SMS automation, and a built-in dialer/VoIP; the WhatsApp add-on is $20/user/mo. Total mailboxes = 5 x seats, plus any paid extra senders.
Hunter
pay_as_you_go = Hunter 'Data Platform' (API-only access) bulk verification credits from the calculator on hunter.io/pricing. Totals were read from the live calculator output ($11.00 for 1,000; $22.00 for 2,000; $110.00 for 10,000; $370.00 for 50,000; $740.00 for 100,000). They match the page's embedded per-credit tier rates ($0.011, $0.009, $0.0074, $0.0046, ... at rising volume thresholds; the whole purchase is billed at the rate of the highest threshold reached). On the Data Platform each verification uses 1 Verification credit (help center: https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/12149400-hunter-api-for-data-plans ). 'Credits can be used up to 12 months from purchase.' Free: 50 credits/month. Each verification costs 0.5 credit, so this is 100 verifications if all credits go to verification (derived). Credit costs are shown on the pricing page ('Email found · 1 credit, Email verified · 0.5 credit') and in Hunter's help center: 'Verifying an email address costs 0.5 credit if you're on an All-in-One Outreach plan; for example, verifying 100 emails will use 50 credits. However, no credits are deducted for Unknown emails' ( https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/12628683-bulk-verify-emails-with-hunter ). Starter: 2,000 credits/month on monthly billing. Yearly: $408/yr ($34/mo) with 24,000 credits available upfront. At 0.5 credit per verification (Hunter help center: https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/12628683-bulk-verify-emails-with-hunter ) that is 4,000 verifications/month if all credits go to verification (derived). Credits are shared with Email Finder and Domain Search (1 credit per email found), reset monthly, and don't roll over. Connects 3 sending email accounts; extra accounts from $10/mo each. Growth: 10,000 credits/month (yearly: $1,248/yr, 120,000 credits upfront). At 0.5 credit per verification that is 20,000 verifications/month (derived; same help-center source as Starter). Connects 10 email accounts. Scale: 25,000 credits/month (yearly: $2,508/yr, 300,000 credits upfront). At 0.5 credit per verification that is 50,000 verifications/month (derived). Connects 20 email accounts.
ZeroBounce
Pay-as-you-go tiers come from the pricing page's embedded tier data and schema.org offers ('2K Credits' $39.00, '10K Credits' $129.00, '50K Credits' $499.00, '100K Credits' $649.00). Other tiers: 5K $69, 25K $274, 250K $1,299, 500K $2,199, 1M $3,199. The FAQ says pay-as-you-go 'starts at $39 USD for validating 2,000 email addresses. It's our minimum purchase.' One credit per email validated (bulk or API); 'unknown' results and duplicates are not charged. Freemium: '100 Validation Credits' per month, refilled monthly ('Get 100 free monthly email verifications when you sign up with a business/premium domain'). ZeroBounce ONE: Subscription from $99/mo, minimum 10,000 credits/mo; a slider raises volume and price, and 1M+ is enterprise pricing. Annual: $948.00/yr per the page's structured data (= $79/mo; 'Annually (Save 20%)'). Includes 10,000 validations, 10,000 finders, 100 inbox tests, 10 blacklist monitors, and 250 warmup seeds. Credits never expire while subscribed; subscribers get 15% off pay-as-you-go credits.
NeverBounce
Pay-as-you-go tiers come from the pricing page's embedded 'Basic Plans' pricing table (__NEXT_DATA__): 1,000 $8 (shown on the card as '$8 / 1,000 credits ... 0.008 per credit'), 5,000 $40, 10,000 $50, 25,000 $125, 50,000 $250, 100,000 $400, 250,000 $750, 1M $2,500, 2M $4,000. The help article https://www.neverbounce.com/help/how-does-pricing-and-billing-work (last updated 2024-03-28) agrees: 10 x 5,000 credits = $400 vs 50,000 credits for $250, and '1 Credit = 1 Email Verification'. Credits expire 12 months after purchase. There is no 2,000-credit tier. The page's interactive dropdown could not be checked in a browser (bot challenge); the embedded data was used. Growth: Pricing card: '$49 / month', 'Up to 10,000' emails to verify. An annual price is not shown on the pricing page (null; check vendor), though the Growth help article ( https://www.neverbounce.com/help/growth-plan ) mentions yearly Growth subscriptions. Growth replaced the legacy Sync plan. The page's embedded 'Sync' table has higher tiers: 50,000 $99, 100,000 $159, 250,000 $249, 500,000 $499, 1M $999.

How the numbers are worked out

inboxes = ceil(emails per day / sends per inbox per day)
domains          = ceil(inboxes / inboxes per domain)
emails a month = emails per day x sending days
new prospects = ceil(emails a month / emails per prospect)
monthly cost = inboxes x mailbox price
                 + domains x yearly registration / 12
+ the cheapest sequencer plan that covers your emails, contacts and inboxes
+ verifying every new prospect's address
cost per 1,000 = monthly cost / (emails a month / 1,000)

Worked example (the defaults). 300 emails a day at 30 per inbox is 10 inboxes. At 3 inboxes per domain that is 4 domains. Over 22 sending days it is 6,600 emails a month, or 2,200 new prospects at 3 emails each. Instantly's Growth plan stops at 5,000 emails a month and Smartlead's Base plan at 6,000, so the calculator picks each vendor's next plan up. Plans change often; the table under the calculator shows the prices and limits it used, with the date each was read.

Time to full volume. New inboxes send warmup traffic only for the weeks you set (three by default), then start at 10 cold emails a day each and add 5 a week. At 30 per inbox you reach full volume in week 8. The ramp follows lemlist's published guidance (start at 10 to 15 a day, add about 5 a week, cap cold email at 25 to 30 and the total at 50 per mailbox); change it in "Ramp after warmup".

Why separate domains and many small inboxes

The stacks are sorted by total price, nothing else. MailSetupCheck may earn a commission if you sign up for Instantly through this site; that does not change its position in the table, and the other vendors are listed and priced the same way. The affiliate disclosure lists every relationship.
